We are committed to doing business ethically and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
The BHBW Code of Conduct, which serves to guide our everyday behaviours, is founded on our five core values: integrity, excellence, teamwork, commitment and sustainability.
Living these values means that we are committed to doing business honestly and fairly, and to delivering excellence in our service and solutions. We work together as a team and respect and value people with different opinions and backgrounds. We take accountability for meeting both individual and shared goals, focusing on the needs of our customers, and we strive to have a lasting positive impact on our stakeholders and the world around us.
Each of us is personally responsible for living these values daily. BHBW's management has a responsibility to “tone at the top” and lead by example.
Our Ethics and Compliance Framework lays out our governance and compliance structures and is the core element of our ethics and compliance programme. This framework is based on the King IV report and establishes the necessary controls, reporting and review of ethics and compliance within BHBW. These, as well as the policies, procedures and guidelines which emanate from the framework, are reviewed and improved on regularly.
The framework ensures that BHBW complies with the necessary legal and regulatory requirements and also establishes the obligations and responsibilities to satisfy compliance requirements. This assists each BHBW employee to make ethical and appropriate decisions in line with their job function.
As a further reiteration of our commitment to ethics and compliance, we have a zero-tolerance approach to fraud, bribery, corruption and unethical business practices. Should you have a concern, or become aware of an action which violates, or appears to violate, the BHBW Code of Conduct, Ethics and Compliance Framework or applicable law, you are encouraged to contact the BHBW Ethics Line on 0800 003 248.
